Petra 2.0
Less posts these days but we are still here...
We continue our work, integrating travel feeds and that's how we came to discover the Petra blog created by the Jordan national tourist office.
This is a good example of how the tourism bureau can develop simply a 2.0 application.

We expected it a long time ago ... SNCF, the french national railway, made it ! The famous orange logo is now available on voyages-sncf.com.

WEB 2.0 and institutional e-tourism
The sum up and the powerpoint samples of the show "Weblogs, RSS Feeds and Web 2.0", organized by Ardesi on November 27th in Toulouse, are already online through the weblog "Blog et Rencontres".
We were glad to participate to this event; it was the opportunity for us to relaunch our main message: "Travel Professionals, syndicate your site ! ".

RSS = Higher target, higher reactivity, higher loyalty, lower costs
The Journal du Net published a spécial file today on " 10 good ideas of the e-tourisme websites" and they took the case of Expédia which have already adopted the RSS to illustrate their article.
They also mention that the RSS is:
- The proper tool to be kept updated on the continuous change of rates
- Very easy and inexpensive to implement
- a tool that encline the subscribee to pull the information to him. The consequence of this act is a higher information consumption.
Hereunder the feeds of some professional of the industry that we recently added to the boardinGate database and which illustrate perfectly the use of the RSS in the travel industry :
Conclusion : Adopting the RSS is an excellent idea !
